→ Amarsbayasgalant: One of the most popular monasteries of Mongolia.
→ Shankha Khiid: With the famous Erdene Zuu monastery, the monastery Shankha was the only one of the region to survive the Communist purges of 1937. This monastery is located exactly halfway between the Karakorum and Khujirt in the village of Shankha.
→ Kharagiin Khiid: monastery located in the city of Darkhan
→ Gandan Muntsaglan: This relatively large monastery, about 500 meters north of the main square in the city of Arvaikheer in the province of Övörkhangaï contains a fine collection of paintings. The current monastery was opened in 1991 and now has about 50 monks in residence. Visitors are welcome.
