Ulaangom city of Mongolia

Ulaangom in Mongolian language means "red sand" and is the capital of the province of Uvs, in the North West of Mongolia. With a population of just under 30 000 inhabitants, the provincial capital is a good base camp for exploring the region. The infrastructure is good (for the Mongolian countryside!) And you can rest there.

Transport plane for Ulaangom: The MIAT offered a service between Ulaangom and Ulan Bator. The new airline Aero Mongolia Mongolia as well. The tariff, although subject to change is about 200 € return.

Transport for Ulaangom jeep: It is possible to find jeep traveling
to Ulaangom leaving Olgii or Khovd. Otherwise, the Mongolian capital, it is possible to go to Ulaangom. You will be going through Moron, perhaps even into it. The distance is about 1340km from the capital of Mongolia.

To see Ulaangom: The Market "tsakh" in Mongolian language, is one of the main attractions of the city. Apart from importers of Chinese or Russian, you'll find all the traditional Mongolian clothing at a very, very interesting.
